ART

We done art today.We did not use the top of the brush we used the bottom.We drew easy stuff to start off.Then we did dots all around .The artist's name was Seurat.The name of art we did is called Pointillism.It is really nice art.If you use difrent coulrs it would be nicer.Vincent Van Gogh panited a lot of panitings just painting with dots.He done 400 panitings and he stared to sell them but he only sold one! He tought the porsen was really nice. A month after that he died.One of his paintings are called Stars And Sunflowers.But pepole still buy his paintings.He dose very nice art.We liked doing the Pointillism.

Swimming with the school.

We started swimming at the King Fisher. We use to swim in Lesier Land. The King Fisher is alright, but Lesier Land was better. Because I have a mean teacher (verymean)! Sorry I can't think of anything else.

contempo string quartet.

Yesterday we went to see the contempo string quartet in the Teacher Centre. There were two violins,a viola and a cello.They played music by Beethoven a famous composer.Some of the music was fast and some slow.They were really good.They must practice a lot.They were from Romania but I thought they sounded French.

Hipkidz

Every Wenensday till the 5th of November we will be going to hipkidz there is a long jump, high jump, moter skills, doge ball, fottball, raceing, throw the ball in the hopes, climing a wall, basketball,thow balls throw small hole.It is not that fun at all .That is all the news I have so fare. made by Selina.

Craic as Gaeile.

We had some craic when we practiced saying "an bhuil cead agam dul leis/léi?" We love the song A Nóra bheag, and we enjoy Trup, trup a Chapaillín. Sometimes our teacher askes us "Cá rachaimid ar an capaillín ar maidin?" Sometimes our capaillín was tinn and we had to phone the vet. Sometimes the vet said "Tabhair deoch uisce dó".

Beo

As part of the Beo Local History project we visited Terryland graveyard in Castlelawn. We went with 5th class. It was a lovely sunny day. We all got to work in groups. Each group had some children from 2nd class and some children from 5th class in it. We learned a lot. We noticed that there was a stone wall all around the graveyard, but no church in sight! We counted the graves when we went into the grave yard. We found some really old graves. We said a prayer for all the people burried there. We had paper and crayons with us and we did some rubbings of old headstones. Ms. O'Byrne took a video of us working and Ms. Farrelly took photos. We saw some wild flowers in the grave yard too.

There are these cards called match attax and, and you can play matches with them because they say the attack and defence ratings. The rarest card you can get is Steven Gerrard man of the match, his attack and defence is 101. You can get limited edition cards like Fernando Torres, he is really good. My best card is Wayne Rooney player of the month (october). My best card will be Nicolas Anelka man of the match on Chelsea. I have about 20 Man u players, and you can get match attax extra.

Our school tour

For all of June we get to wear our own clothes. Today we are going home at 12.30.
On the 19th of June 2nd class are going on our school tour, we are going to
Turoe pet farm. We went to Turoe pet farm before in senior infants. We are
very exited. It will be very hot there.

Our First Communion

On May the 24th we made our First Holy Communion. Lots of people were
there. After that lots of people were going to lots of different places. Everybody
was so excited. All the families took lots of photos. Everybody looked really nice.
Some people did not make there First Holy Communion. The choir was there
aswell, lots of children did good singing. Some children were saying prayers and
some children were singing.

New Teachers

We have 2 new teachers, Ms. O'Connor and Ms. Furey. They are both very nice. They will come back next Friday, and the Friday after that aswell. After the Easter holidays, they will teach us for a full week.
